When you register for a hackathon, you not only work together on a project, but you need to present it in front of the judge(s) so that they can grade your work, and make verdicts about the winners of the hackathon.

For the presentation, there are a few things that you need to take care of. If you ace your pitch with a great pitch deck, impeccable presentation, and excellent communication, then you will leave a greater lasting impression on the judges.

Hence I would keep it brief, and try to explain the point in the least words possible.

Timely presentation

In ancient History, Roman Emperor Julius Caesar is known for his concise, yet impactful oratory skills. Therefore, we need to take an example from history and try to frame our presentation within the given time.

Ideally, the time given is around 5 minutes, which seems so less, but not only do you need to present it, but this time is also sometimes utilized by judges to ask a few questions related to the project.

Keep it short, concise, and to the point!

Captivating pitch deck

Your pitch deck needs to be an amalgam of every aspect. It must show your business aspect, as well as your facts and figure, research, and the future of your project. Among those lines, we need to have eye-catching and attention-grabbing texts or visuals, that will leave an impact on the judges.

(PS: Refrain from using internet memes, which might be hilarious but not seems to be professional)

Immaculate communication

Once again quoting from history, and this time, going to Greek philosophers, Aristotle famously said:

“Man is by nature a social animal; an individual who is unsocial naturally and not accidentally is either beneath our notice or more than human. Society is something that precedes the individual.”

Like the way animals communicate with each other using various mediums, we humans communicate in different ways too.

Try to use a clear tone, and simple words when talking to anyone at the competition, even with your own teammates. This will not only improve your confidence and personality, but you will feel more relaxed than ever.

I really hope you find this article very helpful, and I am really sure that you will consider these points when you are preparing for the upcoming competitions.

Do share it with your teammates and your fellow participants. Danke.
